||This publication is part of a series of Portuguese-language training materials produced during "Strengthening Democracy and Governance through Development of the Media in Mozambique", a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO)/ United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) media development project that ran from 1998 to 2006 in Mozambique.
According to the publication, it is necessary to take care of the technical aspects of a community radio station in order for it to serve its function in the community. While not all community radio stations will choose to use digital technologies, this manual intends to be a systematic guide for those who do to start using digital audio equipment in producing programmes for the community. It explains the basics of using different hardware and software including digital recording and editing software such as Pro-tools, Speed3, Cool Edi, and Hp Recorder. It also discusses how to care for equipment, and offers information on preventative maintenance and solving basic problems.
